| MAINE LAWYER REFERRAL & INFORMATION SERVICE | A trained staff person will ask basic questions about the caller's problem. If the problem is not a legal one, staff may be able to refer caller to another resource for assistance. If the problem is a legal one, staff may be able to refer caller to an attorney for assistance. There is a $20 referral fee if you are referred to an attorney, but that attorney will provide the first half-hour consultation at no additional cost.
